A promise, carried forward.

Ik Deeva is named for my grandfather.
He was a quiet, careful man — the kind of person who worried about everyone else's health before his own, and then began to worry about his own too. For years, he carried a private fear about his kidneys. He thought about it in the morning, in the afternoon, at night. He rarely said it out loud. He didn't want to be a burden.
The worry never left. It became a room he lived inside. And one day, the stress of that room caught up with his body. He had a stroke, and he was gone.
Looking back, the hardest part isn't only that we lost him. It's the quiet knowing that this could have been different. If he'd had a place to bring the worry. A gentle guide. A companion that met him where he was, without a waiting room or a bill or a stigma. If someone had simply told him: the way your mind is treating your body is itself a thing that deserves care.
Ik Deeva exists so that the next person like him has that place.
We are a nonprofit. Our tools and guides will always be free. We serve teens and adults, because worry doesn't wait until you're grown, and because the caretakers in our lives deserve care of their own.
We can't rewrite what happened. We can make sure the next family gets more time.
